Competition rules
1 The committee will organise the competition in close cooperation with the representative of the host country.
- The competition can be organised in the context of a trade fair
If there are cheap ways of transportation each participant can bring their own samples of panels/ test pieces. These will be judged in a separate design-contest (if it takes place).
2 All countries taking part will send:
- 2 competitors (2 persons; upper age limit 25)
- exceptionally (a reason must be given) upper age limit can be 28.
- In any event no more than 5 years in the trade (including training).
- 2 officials, one of whom should be a member of the panel of judges
These 4 persons are guests of the host country. They will pay their travelling expenses themselves and will be accomodated in double rooms.
3 It is possible to take part in the competition once only
4 The previous year’s winner will have the opportunity of presenting the new winner with the first prize. The Supporting Association (EUFA P+F), will pay the expenses of the previous year’s winner
5 If possible, invitations to the competition should be sent out 4 months before its commence. Completed registrations forms for competitors, officials and accompanying persons should be returned 2 months before the competition commences. Every payment has to occur 2 months before the contests beginning at the latest.
6 If a competing country, after having registered, is unable to take part its withdrawal can only be accepted if a good reason is given. This “exceptional” withdrawal must be announced one month before the competition. Later withdrawals will be subject to a fine imposed by the committee.
7 The country hosting the competition will organise, in cooperation with the committee:
Board and lodging for participants and officials
The program during the competition
Competition drawings, appropriate for the various different kinds of parquet
The machines necessary if these have not been brought along by the participants themselves, *)
The kinds of parquet to be used, the screeds(sleepers), solvent-free adhesives and surface treatment systems
*) Machines brought along by participants should have an extraction system and conform to European safety requirements
8 The participants should bring the necessary tools with them;
these must meet the safetyrequirements of the hosting country.
9 The competition timetable set by the judges (start, breaks, finish) must be clearly visible for the competitors at all times during the competition.
- Going over the time limit will result in points being lost.
- The judges can decide to allow more time during the competition.
