Within the exhibition in Bucharest the romanian parquet layer association AMPR organised its yearly national contest from 23.03. to 25.03.2017. For the first time also experts for screed coating competed in the contest next to the parquet and floor layers.
Accordingly large was the amount of tasks and accordingly costly was the preparation. This was done by Robert Malischik from the parquet magazine Pardoseli and Constantin Cadar (Puiu) from the Association AMPR. Creating the tasks and the valuation documents was done by Heinz Brehm and Josef Heller from EUFA.
The workplaces including working boxes were perfectly prepared by Puiu. So could the competitors get used to the tasks at thursday evening. Then they had the chance to deal with the task until the start at friday.
The parquet layers had to produce a two layer parquet plate from the company Bauwerk.
The parquet layers could lay the pattern at friday and finish their work with the surface at saturday.
The workplaces were generously equipped with new Festool-saws and -milling machines by the Field Group Romania.
The experinece of the jurors with the work technique at the machines and with the planning of the work process during the contest made the Romanians want to organise a seminar for several days in the summer.
Although the floor layers had to lay three plates at the same time, they didn't have time problemes until the end at saturday noon.
New in the contest was the participation of the experts for coating. After having multiple organisation questions because of the preparation of the tasks, this part of the contest was a fabulous experience. It was admirable to see that coating can't just be produced in single-coloured grey, but also leaves a lot of space for creative design.
Thereby the wishes of the generously supporting producers were included.
Before the contest architecture students of the University Bucharest created designs for parquet floors. With a small celebration the work has been appreciated.
The ending of the contest was a celebration where the sponsors were thanked with certificates. Competitors and winners got generous presents. Thanks to a snack everybody had a chance to exchange ideas.

Besides the contest additional short seminars were offered. That's why the representative of the company Gann could present machines for moisture determination of wood and screed. Thereby developed a lively discussion about provision of measurements and about the precision of the measured values.
