Contest specifications

for the international polish contest of parquet-layers 2015 in Poznan during the Budma-fair

  1. Teams are supposed to consist of apprentice and master/instructor. Single persons are of course also allowed to compete in the international polish parquet laying contest. The age of the competitors isn't limited.Driving costs have to be payed by the competitors. Stowarzyszenie Parkieciarzy Polscy ´SPP´ sponsors:  2x overnight stay with breakfast,  2,5 days day dining,  2x dinner and gala-dinner.
  2. Two layer parquet is used, size: 490x70x11 mm, raw, in three colours for example: oak, maple, merbau. This will be processed on a chipboard, which is all around provided with a lateral frame (to be done by the competitors). The inner surface dimension has to be 1,10 x 1,10 m. The parquet, adhesive and oil is being provided.

  3. The competitor is supposed to use the time until the competition to form the parquet design creatively. The creativity/difficulty (first level) and the technical rating (second level) are decisive for the ranking.

  4. A technical commission supervises and evaluates the execution of the parquet laying according to the rules of the subject: for example: spring proportion: all around 75 % with the parquet elements, adhesive application according to the specifications of the producer, even edge distance of 10 mm such as the use of abrasive, oil application, etc.
  5. Mafell-circular saws E65 with lateral table including tools for grooving are available and are being used according to the sponsor agreement. Own tools, and other technical expedients, machines for surface treatment  and own abrasives have to be brought.

Arrival of the competitors with apprentice or with technical supporter in the budma fair at the main entrance, handing over of tickets and hotel adress, local hints and  approach to the competition hall in the fair ground, presentation: competition leading, competitors, technical commission, admission to the safety measurements of the machines. Work place construction, cutting square wood and fixing (material is available).

End: 17:00 o'clock   /   19:00 o'clock   Dinner: place after announcement
